Bradford Fireseal Curtain wall batts are made from non-combustible rockwool, which is specifically designed to retard the progress of fire, smoke and heat between floors of multi story buildings. Bradford Fireseal Curtain wall batts are tested to AS1530.4 and can be tailored to meet BCA requirements for volume 1 Clause C2.6; any gaps behind a curtain wall must be packed with non-combustible material that will withstand thermal expansion and structural movement, without loss of seal against fire and smoke.
This material is installed between the edge of the concrete slab and the curtain wall frame in multi storey buildings, and will provide fire protection up to the FRL of the fire rated spandrel, and up to a maximum of 2 hours. For example, if the fire rated spandrel has FRL of 1 hour, then Fireseal Curtain wall batt will match 1 hour. If the fire rated spandrel has FRL of 3 hours, then Fireseal Curtain wall batt will provide maximum of 2 hours.
